I'm thankful on Monday!

I am lucky to be thankful! I am grateful for so much: my family, my home, my friends, my life. Thank you, Lord.
This adorable image is from Public Domain Clip Art; they have some fun images there. How fun to win a turkey at a raffle and carry it home? I won a turkey in middle school during a race! My partner, Kyle, and I each had to run half a mile and we beat them all! We each got to take home a turkey, without the feathers and surely sealed in plastic. Such fun! I definitely couldn't run half a mile today, ahh, youth!
The kids are going bonkers in the bathroom right now, I wonder just how much toothpaste I'll find on the sink and kleenex on the floor! But I feel content and relaxed, so I'm letting them play. I had two scrapping parties this weekend. I'm just not sure how that whole deal is going, but I'm going to reevaluate after the holidays when people are more willing to spend on hobbies. Right now the sales just aren't happening. I am making a decision to let God work on it for a bit for me and then see what should take place.
I'm not a very religious person, but right now I feel I need to let somebody else be in control! I'm just not cutting it by myself!
I wish to all of you a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with love and family and good things to eat and be thankful for!
Happy day!

Tuesday, and that' all I've got in me

I feel so blah and crappy this morning. I am hoping that by the end of this blog post I will feel better!
I'll start with the negative because I like to leave off on a positive note. . .
Our twelve year old cat, Rapunzel, was diagnosed yesterday with Chronic Renal Failure. You remember Rapunzel, don't you? The stupid cat who hasn't used a litter box in four years? I've been wanting to put her down for a long time because she uses our basement as her bathroom. And then yesterday she peed on Abbey's bed and then pooped on mine! Completely unacceptable! But the husband who doesn't clean any of it up thinks she's just fine. Doesn't see anything wrong with living with renal failure and peeing up the house!! Needless to say there was a huge fight last night, with lots of tears from me. It got super ugly, too. I feel hungover from it all today. My eyes are so puffy from all the crying that I had to soak them with a cold washcloth to open them this morning.
Enough of the pity party, right? We were the ones who wanted the cat in the first place, so it is our responsibility to take care of her. Suck it up, Beth!
Now here's the good part ( with just a little crap thrown in!). I had two shows this weekend and one went fabulously! My show on Friday when I was trying to sell scrapbooking materials was horrid. I made one sale. But the lady at the table across from me did give me some fabulous pumpkin cupcakes! My show on Saturday when I was selling my own art, mainly my collage greeting cards and gift tags, was awesome!! I sold three fourths of my inventory and had such fun!! My tablemate, Traci, did really well too. We had such a fun day together and I can't wait to do another show with her! Thanks Traci! You are such a great friend ♥♥♥
See? It all turns out OK. The cat is in the kitchen guzzling water, I have two scrapbooking parties to look forward to this weekend, and my kids are healthy. What more is there to ask for?
Happy day!
ps sorry but I could not find an image that describes my feelings today! It'll have to be an all verbage post today!

I think I'm ready!

You're all right! It doesn't take long to pull it all together for a show. I spent about an hour or two yesterday organizing and pricing and I think I'm ready. Phew! I did it in the middle of the family room, too, instead of my studio and my dh was huffing and gruffing the whole time. He wasn't even in the family room so I don't know what the big deal was! It's just that my studio table is covered in scrapbooking materials and I didn't want to mix them up!
Thankfully today he's back at work and I can do what I want, where I want! I'm thinking about switching my closet with Matt's closet. He has more hanging clothes than I do, and I think it would behoove us both to have the other's closet. I'll get started on it and see where it takes me.
Noah has preschool pictures today! We'll see how that goes! He is so obstinate and difficult sometimes I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't show up in the class photo or even in his own! Hmmm, three year old boys. Or maybe that's argh!
Happy day to all and thanks for all of the wonderful comments on my tags from yesterday! It's very much appreciated!

I'm not ready for my show!!

Have you ever been completely unprepared for a show? Well, I still have to put all of my tags and cards into their cello sleeves and price them. I guess that's not really too much work, though! Let's be positive here! I also need to finish up two journals and price them.
I have a spot in a show on Friday night and I will be showing Creative Memories scrapbooking materials at that one. And then the show on Saturday will be for my own work. I am sharing a table with my good friend, Traci, who makes gorgeous beaded jewelry. I think it will make a fun and beautiful table! Hopefully we'll do well! Hopefully I'll do well at both shows!!
Here are some images of Christmas tags that I have to sell at the Saturday show. Unfortunately I had to photograph them in their cello sleeves as I had already sealed them, so the glare is there and the color may be slightly off. I wish I had spent the time to make more, but hindsight is 20/20. Is that how the saying goes?
Happy day to you all and enjoy this beautiful Fall weather we're having!

All is great in my world

The election is over, so my husband is home for a few days; the kids are healthy; the house is clean; and I'm having my first scrapping party on Friday night! Everything is goodgoodgood here! The only thing I need to figure out is how to get Noah to stay in bed until 6am! As soon as he hears me tiptoeing around at 5:30, he has to pop out and demand to be up for the day. Today I pulled the old Santa only brings toys to good boys and girls and he went back to his room for fifteen minutes. Better than nothing, I guess.
My first scrapping party is coming up on Friday and I am so excited!! I have to clean my studio today so that we can use that table, also, to work on. I've already made the two pages for the party, but of course guests can scrap in whatever style they choose. Two girls are coming with their moms so I'm guessing they'll do it in their own styles! And I bought an extra kit for Abbey so we'll see what she comes up with!
I've planned a Mom and Third Grader (Abbey's in 3rd Grade) Card Making Party. Part of the proceeds from the party are going to the school, which I thought might entice more people to come. And it has! I'm going to have to rent some tables for my house and pack in the people. It really is less expensive to do that than to rent out some larger venue. I'll figure it out!! Thankfully, I know it sounds bizarre, not everybody can come. I'm hoping for twenty or so couples.
O! I've been growing out my hair for some time and finally got an awesome haircut!! I am so thrilled with it and finally don't feel dowdy! I've been working with such uneven ends for some time that it is an absolute pleasure to look in the mirror!!
Enough about how beautiful I am :)) Hope you all have a fabulous Autumn day!

Christmas is coming!

Remember that old Christmas ditty "Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat! Please put a penny in the old man's hat. If you haven't got a penny, a haypenny will do. If you haven't got a haypenny, then God bless you!"
I guess it's time to get serious about making Christmas gift tags and such. I really don't WANT to, but poo, I'd best anyway! I so want to concentrate on scrapbooking right now, but I've made this commitment to a show and certainly cannot show up empty handed! I think my goose may be cooked!
Halloween was fantabulous! We had maybe thirty to forty trick or treaters come to our house; and the kids brought in truck loads of goodies! Whole candy bars even! The four of us gorged ourselves yesterday and it feels so good to sit and drink a nice sugar free cup of tea this morning. Alright fine, so I put half a teaspoon in! I love the sugar!!!!
I have a big shipment coming today from Creative Memories and I'm so excited! I've already checked the UPS tracking info three times. And that won't be the last! It usually comes during naptime. Can't wait!
I have to clean my studio today on top of vacuuming a few other rooms. Not too much; it's going to be an easypeasy day today. It's Monday and it will be fabulous!! My horoscope is great for today, telling me to relax and take it easy today, I like that! What a great start to the week. Maybe I'll even throw in a couple of loads of laundry, too, as the dryer is working and I am all caught up on laundry. Yahoo! Just small loads of Noah's to do and a pink load of Abbey's.
Happy Monday!!!
